I feel fortunate enough to say that I have been working in public schools since 2004. However, I’ve never felt luckier than I do teaching in Foxborough! And even though this my seventh year teaching 5th grade at the Ahern, I remember exactly what it felt like to be new here, and can relate to the “first day jitters”. Actually, I still feel these each and every year on the first day! So have no fear, soon you will see that the Ahern is a wonderful place to learn!
I graduated from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Child Psychology. I quickly learned, through an internship, that the classroom was the place to be, and enrolled in a Masters program at Bridgewater State right away. There I received my Masters in Elementary Education. However, since I love school and learning so much, I wanted to keep going! And in 2014, I received my CAGS in Special Education from American International College.
Former students will tell you that some my most favorite things are pets, sports, math, reading and family! I have two cats that I love so very much. Luchi (aka “Monster”) was a stray kitten found outside that I bottle fed into a little ball of fun and feistiness! When he was about a year old, he seemed in need of a playmate, so I adopted Da Vinchi (aka Vinchi-Voo), who is the best brother to Luchi! They have so much fun playing and snuggling together. Recently, I have been fostering a female kitty, Nova, who has become the princess of the household! I also have a pet corn snake named Juliet (Jewels). She’s a very sweet snakey!
In July of 2105, I got married. Some of you may know my husband, Mr. Williams, as he has taught seventh and eighth grade social studies for the past twelve years at the Ahern. We had a wonderful wedding on Bailey Island, Maine, and got to visit one of our dream locations – Italy! We were so lucky to travel to this beautiful and historic location. I look forward to telling you all about it! Mr. Williams has a very cool African Cichlid fish tank, so I now have some awesome fish at home too.
A couple of years ago we welcomed the newest addition to our family, baby Josephine! Josie turns two on August 26th and leaves our lives with no shortage of fun and adventure!
When I am not at school, I love to visit with my family and friends and be really active. I have an older brother and a younger sister and the most amazing two nieces and nephews! Landon, Brynley, Layla, and the newest little guy, Gannon my favorite little buddies and I just love spending time with them. We like to explore all the fun things that this area has to offer. They, along with Mr. Williams and I, are die-hard Patriots fans. We are two of those crazy fans who love to bundle up for the cold winter games. With all that Foxborough has to offer, it’s as if teaching at the Ahern was my destiny!
